Engadine Photos

We visited the Upper Engadin region of Switzerland, which has three charming towns in close proximity: Samedan, St. Moritz, and Pontresina. Unfortunately, it was right in their off season, so many places were closed and the towns were deserted. We only ended up staying there for one night. The album includes photos from the Bernina Express journey. Click the photo below to see the full album.

Samedan

Raul is happy here!

Mount Pilatus Photos

We are obviously slowing down with posting photos, but another album is ready for your viewing pleasure: Mount Pilatus. We ascended via gondola about halfway, to a cable car station. Before going all the way to the top, we did some activities in the area including a summer toboggan run. Unfortunately we weren’t able to capture the actual toboggan run on camera, as that was forbidden. On the other side of the mountain, we descended via an incredibly steep cogwheel train.

Lauren is out of town, and she is the one responsible for the captions, so it will be some days before another album is ready. Click the picture below to view the full set.

Pilatus Cable Car

The windy day caused the cable car to sway a bit, causing Lauren a little bit of anxiety.

Appenzell Region Photos

We spent one night in the Appenzell region. Before going to our lodge on Ebenalp, we did the barefoot walk. We planned to do a lot more hiking here, but the weather did not cooperate with these plans, and some of the trails we were looking forward to were closed due to avalanches. The full album can be seen by clicking the picture below.

The path took us through the countryside.

Dachstein Photos

The photos from our excursion up on the Dachstein cable car ready. At the first stop, we visited an ice cave. Photography was prohibited in the cave itself. From there, we continued higher to a few lookout points and had lunch at a refuge. Click the picture below to see the full album.

Relaxing on Krippenstein

It may not look like much, but somehow, these curved chairs were perfectly relaxing, being out in the warm sun with a cool snowy breeze and views for miles around.
